Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of careerguidancelimerick.ie ("the Site") and your purchase of any assessment or guidance package through it. The Site is operated by CourseCompass Education Limited (CRO 810847), a company registered in Ireland ("CourseCompass", "we", "us"). By using the Site or buying a product through it, you agree to these terms.
1. What we provide
CourseCompass provides online psychometric assessments and course/career-matching tools for Leaving Certificate and further-education students in Limerick, including the CAO Course Match Test, Subject Choice Test, PLC Course Match Test, Apprenticeship Match Test and Full Guidance Package. Prices shown on the Site at the time of purchase are in euro and are the prices you pay.
Your results are generated through a combination of automated scoring and algorithmic processing of your answers. They are intended as an informational guide to help you think through your options — they are not a substitute for professional guidance counselling, and we do not guarantee any particular CAO, PLC or apprenticeship outcome.
2. Independence
Career Guidance Limerick is an independent resource operated by CourseCompass. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the CAO, any Education and Training Board, university, college, or employer referenced on the Site. Local facts and figures are cited to their original public source at the point they're used.
3. Payment and instant access
Payment is processed securely by Revolut; we never see or store your card details. Our products are digital content delivered to you immediately once payment is confirmed — you get straight into your test, with no waiting period.
Because access begins immediately, by completing your purchase you expressly agree that:
- you consent to CourseCompass beginning performance of the service (giving you access to the test) right away, before any statutory cancellation period would otherwise end; and
- you acknowledge that, as a result, you lose your right to cancel under the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013 (S.I. No. 484 of 2013) once that access has begun.
This does not affect your other statutory rights — for example, if the service we actually deliver is faulty, not as described, or doesn't work, you remain entitled to the remedies available to you under Irish and EU consumer law.
4. Your account and responses
There's no password account to manage — access is tied to the email address you provide. Keep any results link or email we send you safe, as it's how you get back into your report. You're responsible for answering the assessment honestly and for your own use of the results.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: resell, scrape, or redistribute test content or results; attempt to automate or bulk-purchase access; reverse-engineer our scoring methodology; or otherwise misuse the Site in a way that could disrupt it for other students.
6. Intellectual property
All test content, questions, scoring methodology, report design and site content belong to CourseCompass Education Limited (or its licensors). Buying a product gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use your own results — it doesn't transfer any ownership of our underlying content or methodology to you.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant product, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or your statutory consumer rights.
8. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect a new product or legal requirement. The version in force at the time of your purchase is the one that applies to that purchase.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you under the law of the country you live in.
